CGB-EBI. James Madison MALTBY, b. Dec. 22, 1808, Oneida Co., N.Y. (Tim.5, Sam.4, Sam.3, Sam.2, Wm.1). One authority gives: "m. at Richland, N.Y." Another states: "m. at Oswego, N.Y.," Sarah MEACHAM, b. at Pawlet, Vt. She was living at Beloit, Wis., in 1864. They resided at Richland, N.Y., on Maltby farm. The records received do not check. One says "After his death she removed to Wisconsin, taking her two sons with her. Settled on a farm near Beloit. Died prior to her two sons." Another writes "She died 1866 in Beloit. He m. (2) in 1868, Mary J. Lambert. No children.
